The survey address the problem of measuring gender equality in Academia with the aim to define and develop a system gender equality indicators in Universities and Research Institutions. The Research was carried out within the framework of the FP7 EU GenderTime Project (2013-2016).
The main objective of the project is to monitor the under-representation of women in the scientific research environment and to improve their working conditions and career opportunities. The information collected involves many different aspects related to permanent and temporary teaching staff in scientific research, such as: the quality of work, access to funds for research, scientific issues and patents, space for research, involvement in decision-making, the quality of work-life balance and several other issues that can be sensitive from a gender point of view in academia.
